KNOWING ‘Z’ FROM ‘A’.

“The instant I set my eyes on you, I knew you were the one and we would get married someday”.

“I am sorry, but right from the first time we spoke, I knew we could never be more than friends”.

The one thing both statements have in common is the ability of the speaker to ‘know the future’. Personally, the first statement should be scrapped from the universe. Guys have turned it into a lullaby and they remain ignorant, thinking we would be fooled (… forgive me ye genuine ones). And to musicians who still use it, directly or indirectly, my candid advice: “that’s stale, try another line”.

The issue today is the second statement. Often used by ladies and implies that the instant a lady meets a guy, there is a quick sorting into:

  • Nope! No way at all… not even friendship
  • Possibility beyond friendship
  • I need to get this guy!!!
  • Friendzone
  • Brotherzone, unclezone, teacherzone, classrepzone
  • Etczone… the zones beyond the scope of today.

This sorting, is it possible? Yes.

Is it always accurate? No.

Is the category permanent? No.

Certain factors the lady considers in micro/milliseconds:

  • Handsome
  • Articulation
  • Age range
  • Faith
  • Overall appearance… o ye bathroom slippers wearers…
  • Money fragrance… hyperosmia
  • Approachability
  • Humour
  • Tribe

There are many others and the priority placed on each factor varies from lady to lady. The lady on her part might wonder, “Am I ready? Am I interested? Can this wait?” If the guy meets most of her requirements, he can ‘push’ her to think she is ready. On the other hand, if he falls way below, she can say, “I am not ready” when in fact, she is overdue.

Truth is the initial category is often accurate. For the moment/period.

But time goes on. Factors change. Perspectives tilt.

Advice?

  1. Guys, you will be sorted into a category. Believe me. ( maybe you even already have a category). But, it may change.

2. Ladies, I know we can’t help it. But, be careful. Don’t let a category (b) be misplaced into category (d).

Q. Is there anything a guy can do to change his category?

  1. Sister zone
    Flirt zone
    Classmate zone
    Friend zone,
    Potential bae zone
    ‘Must-be-bae’ zone

I just got this from one of my male friends. He says it’s the zoning guys have for ladies… worth sharing.
